Where is the lab
The Language and Computation Lab is located in the Psycholinguistics Lab at AS5 #04-05. It has the unique feature of being a “lab-within-a-lab”.
What does the lab look like
What does the lab contain
Computers for RAs and students to work on are called Erdos and Renyi, named after the founding fathers of graph theory which is the precursor to modern network science. These are the computers on the white desks.
Computers to conduct in-person data collection with are called Malaprop and Mondegreen, named after speech errors or (more accurately) people who lent their names to various types of speech errors. These are the computers in the wooden cubicles. The lab is also equipped with headphones and response button boxes for data collection. We also have an internal lab server called Spooner (after “spoonerisms”).
